Week 8 is coming to a close tonight with a MNF matchup between the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs. The spread favors the Chiefs by 10.5 and the over/under is at 52. The Chiefs are playing at home and have lost 4 of their last 6 games. The 2 wins in that timeframe were against NFC East teams the Eagles and the WFT. Patrick Mahomes will look to get another NFC East win tonight in hopes of getting their season back on track. The Chiefs are averaging almost 27 points per game on offense but are also averaging 29 points against them on defense. I am expecting a lot of points in this one as the Chiefs will look to score often and the Giants will try to take advantage of a weak and vulnerable defense. There are so many fantasy relevant players in this game on both sides of the ball. Patrick Mahomes and Daniel Jones are in good positions to produce tonight. My bold prediction is Darrel Williams over 100 combined yards and 2 TDs. Chiefs win 31-23.

It’s time to get strategic and use your persuasion and negotiation skills out in the fantasy football trade market. Here are some players to buy and sell before week 9 begins. Like I always say, one trade could be the difference in winning or losing your fantasy football league.

PLAYERS TO BUY

Dalton Schultz – Dallas Cowboys

Dalton Schultz had his worst game of the season last night in Minnesota. The emerging TE caught just 2 of his 7 targets for 11 receiving yards. The Cowboys were fresh off their BYE week and pulled out a win without their leader QB Dak Prescott. Cooper Rush did what he had to do for Dallas throwing for 325 yards and 2 TDs. Dak is expected back on the field for week 9. Schultz and Prescott have been clicking nicely this season and their remaining schedule is very favorable for TEs. It’s a great time to buy low on Dalton.

Jaylen Waddle – Miami Dolphins

Jaylen Waddle finished week 8 with a loss against Buffalo. He caught 4 passes for 29 yards. Not ideal at all but he was targeted 12 times. Davante Parker returned from injury and caught 8 of his 11 targets for 85 receiving yards. Playing Buffalo is never a good time yet they both played 63 or more snaps out of 69. Mike Gesicki and Myles Gaskin were the next closest in targets with 4 each. Waddle getting 12 targets even with Parker back in a tough matchup is a bright spot in this loss. Waddle will catch a lot more of his targets as long as Tua can throw accurately. Good opportunity to buy low on Waddle.

D’Andre Swift – Detroit Lions

Swift had a rather disappointing performance in week 8 at home against the Eagles. This was a game that many thought the Lions could win but wound up losing 44-6 and are staring down a tough remaining schedule. Swift carried the ball 12 times for 27 yards and caught all 5 of his targets for 24 receiving yards. He had his chances, but nothing developed against Philadelphia even with Jamaal Williams not playing. Even with a tough remaining schedule and being on a winless team, D’Andre should be considered a must start every week based on his usage as a dual threat RB. Send out some buy low offers to his owner and see if you can work some magic.

Leonard Fournette – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Fournette finished week 8 with 8 carries for 26 rushing yards and caught 3 of his 5 targets for 17 receiving yards. Playing the Saints is not a great spot for RBs but also the flow of the game favored the pass game. Saints put up points and Tom Brady had to air it out. Fournette had 8 of the teams 14 carries and had the 3rd most targets on the team. The Bucs are not a team that trails often so the future is still bright for Fournette and the Bucs. Looking at their remaining schedule, it looks more RB friendly than not. Buy Leonard Fournette low and watch him go back to impressing after his week 9 BYE.

PLAYERS TO SELL

Cedrick Wilson – Dallas Cowboys

Cedrick Wilson caught 3 of 3 targets for 81 receiving yards and a TD. He threw for 35 yards as well oddly enough. This was Wilsons best game of the season, but I wouldn’t expect him to put up big numbers regularly. He did this without Dak Prescott, but the Cowboys should get back Michael Gallup this week. Wilson will then be behind Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup on the WR depth chart. Not to mention Dak likes throwing to Schultz and Zeke quite a bit as well. It’s time to try to unload Wilson in efforts for a decent starter before his value plummets and the decision to drop him lingers.

Tee Higgins – Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins caught 4 of his 6 targets for 97 receiving yards in a shocking loss to the Jets. He was 3rd in targets, tied for 2nd in receptions, and led the team in receiving yards. Higgins has been a reliable WR in fantasy this season when healthy, but he is part of a 3 headed WR attack for Joe Burrow. Jamar Chase is obviously Burrows top WR and the Bengals remaining schedule is not ideal. Try to sell him high as you can for a reliable starter with a nice workload and favorable remaining schedule. Same goes for Tyler Boyd.

Khalil Herbert – Cleveland Browns

Khalil Herbert is starting to look very special for the Bears. In his last 4 games he has 78 carries for 344 rushing yards with a TD and has caught 9 of 10 targets for 44 receiving yards. He has been a work horse for the Bears lately and has shown he should be involved more throughout the remainder of the season. My only issue is that David Montgomery could return in week 9 or will most likely be back after their week 10 BYE. As good as Herbert has been, Montgomery was great when he was playing in the first 4 weeks. I expect Montgomery to carry the workload with Herbert stealing some snaps from him. Both should be involved but Montgomery is the guy you want. I would sell Herbert sky high while his stats have been ideal.

Cole Beasley – Buffalo Bills

The Bills took their sweet time in week 9 to get on the scoreboard and eventually secure a win against Miami. Beasley led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. He finished with 10 recaptions on 13 targets for 110 receiving yards. I don’t know what was more surprising, Beasley doubling Diggs in receptions, Gabriel Davis finding the end zone, or Emmanuel Sanders not recording a catch. Beasley has been hot and cold in an offense where any pass catcher can be a boom or bust each week. With Stefon Diggs and Emmanuel Sanders top of the WR depth chart, along with the potential return of Dawson Knox, Beasley is another mouth to feed in a crowded offense. I would try to sell him high for a more consistent fantasy option.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said CB Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring) is "questionable at best" for Week 3.
Porter missed last week's loss to the Seahawks while recovering from a hamstring injury and could sit out this week against the Patriots. The Steelers' secondary has struggled to start the season, allowing the NFL's sixth highest adjusted yards per attempt and the seventh highest accuracy rate. Porter's absence could be a boon for Drake Maye in Week 3.
