NHL DFS: 10-24-23

Welcome to Frozen Frenzy! Every team will play today starting at 6pm Eastern Time with a game starting every 15 mins.  Luckily DraftKings has chopped this up into multiple slates that are more manageable. The Man Slte starts at 7pm EST and contains 13 matchups, which is still pretty overwhelming. We will focus on the ain slate, bit there are some interesting smaller slates at 6pm, 8pm, 9pm and 10:30pm. I will be hanging out in Discord all night if anyone wants to drop in and discuss.

If you are a regular reader, you know that on large slates, I prefer to pick a few games and hammer those in GPPs. It lowers variance and prevents chasing too many lineups.

My absolute favorite spots tonight are the Florida Panthers and Detroit Red Wings. Florida has their top 3 lines all scoring and welcomes in the lowly Sharks, while Detroit has the best powerplay in hockey right now, so use it before it regresses.

Jaguars Travis Hunter To Start On Offense, Come Off Bench On Defense
Another revelation with the onset of teams’ unofficial depth charts came in Jacksonville, where ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes that rookie No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter has been listed as a starting wide receiver on offense but a backup cornerback on defense. It’s an intriguing development in what has been a closely-watched situation concerning Hunter’s […]

Titans hope to manage Tony Pollard better in 2025
OC talks importance of mixing in other backs Titans OC Nick Holz: Feels like RB Tony Pollard is in a good place heading into the season, but we'll have to get other backs in the mix, whether it's Julius Chestnut or Kalel Mullings. Team doesn't want to overload Pollard and wear him down. (TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt) FF Today's Take: Forgive fantasy managers for being skeptical after Tennessee said similar things last year, only to ask him to handle 301 touches across 16 relatively meaningless games. At least until Tyjae Spears (ankle) is ready to come off IR, Pollard's handcuff will likely be Mullings since the team rarely used Chestnut in a similar spot last year. Mullings is probably worth a stash in 14-team leagues, but he will likely remain off the radar in 12-teamers.

Cowboys Set Focus On Deals With OL Tyler Smith, DE Sam Williams
SEPTEMBER 2: Though it looked like there might be a chance for the Cowboys to get a new deal done with Smith before the onset of the regular season, that appears less likely with the first game of the season less than 48 hours away. Smith doesn’t seem concerned about the delay in the slightest, […]

Jaguars listed Travis Hunter as a starting wide receiver and backup cornerback on their Week 1 depth chart.
The Jaguars had initially listed Hunter as a starting wide receiver and backup cornerback at the beginning of preseason and continue to do so ahead of Week 1. Though not much stock should go into these early depth charts, camp usage indicates Hunter will be primarily an offensive player, with secondary usage on defense. Head coach Liam Coen said the Jaguars are evaluating Hunter's Week 1 usage due to missed time for an upper body injury. The rookie No. 2 overall pick is still slated for versatility, but fantasy managers can expect to get his offensive production at the WR3 level to start with.
